Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of Returninja’s Shopify application and related services. By installing or using the app, you agree to these Terms.

1. About the app

Returninja analyzes recent order data to estimate return risk and present lightweight, merchant‑facing guidance and storefront hints that reduce preventable returns.

2. Shopify scopes and data

  • Scopes requested: read_orders, read_products, read_customers, read_metaobjects, write_metaobjects, write_metaobject_definitions.

  • Stored fields include order IDs, dates, totals, currencies, and line‑item details (variants/options such as size and color, SKU, product type, tags), as well as Shopify customer IDs and anonymous session IDs used to link analytics. Customer contact details (names, emails, phone numbers, postal addresses, and payment card data) are not copied into our own database.

3. Merchant account and responsibilities

  • You must maintain an active Shopify store and comply with Shopify’s Terms and policies.

  • You are responsible for your configuration, including thresholds and category exceptions.

  • Do not upload sensitive personal data into configuration fields.

4. Plans, trials, and billing

  • Subscriptions are managed via Shopify’s App Subscription billing; charges are initiated from within the app and processed by Shopify.

  • Free trial: 14 days prior to plan activation. Selecting a plan starts billing immediately.

  • Available plans (Starter, Growth, Pro) can be upgraded or downgraded directly inside Shopify Admin without contacting support.

5. Cancellation

  • You can cancel at any time via Shopify Admin → App subscription. Cancellation stops future charges.

  • Uninstalling the app triggers our data deletion flow for your shop (see Privacy Policy).

6. Data protection

Our Privacy Policy forms part of these Terms and describes what we store, how long we keep it, and your rights. We support Shopify’s privacy webhooks (customers/data_request, customers/redact, shop/redact, app/uninstalled).

7. Service level and changes

  • We aim to provide high availability, but the service is provided “as is”.

  • We may update features or these Terms; material changes will be announced in‑app with reasonable notice.

8. Disclaimers

  • Returninja provides risk estimates and suggestions; final fulfillment decisions remain with the merchant.

  • To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non‑infringement.

9. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Returninja will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits/revenue. Our aggregate liability shall not exceed the fees paid for the three months preceding the event giving rise to liability.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in your place of business unless overridden by mandatory local consumer laws. Venue and jurisdiction will follow that forum.
